Beards on MMA with Michelle Ould

Posted by Andrew on October 23, 2013 at 9:20 PM Comments comments (0)

Tonight on Beards on MMA, we welcome the exciting, the unabashed, the very direct Michelle "Thundercat" Ould, the world's #3 ranked womens' Flyweight in the world. Michelle has been on the sidelines nursing injury since her victory over Munah Holland at Bellator last year, but it sounds like she's ready to go, and recently tweeted that she was sent a bout agreement. When can we expect to see her back? With who exactly?

After that, we'll switch gears to Bellator 103 and UFC 166 to close out the night.

Beards on MMA with Jon Jones

On this edition of Beards on MMA, we welcome Jon Jones. Not that Jon Jones, but Jon Jones. Which Jon Jones? Why, Jon Jones from New York. Wait what?

This Jon Jones is completely unconnected to MMA - He's an Outsourcing Manager in Video Gaming. Last September, he inadvertently rose to prominence when UFC 151 was canceled, and he started to receive a steadier than usual stream of hate, insults and general threats. Rather than ignoring it all, he's taken it in good humor, even dishing back. In some cases, people even fail to see he's not the UFC's Jon Jones and continue their tirades. Why you ask? He's the owner of Twitter handle @jonjones - That's why.

Beards on MMA with Marc Montoya

Posted by Andrew on October 23, 2013 at 9:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Coming up on this week's edition of Beards on MMA, we've open October with a visit from our bearded brother Marc Montoya. Marc was recently in Portland with Joe Warren at Bellator 101, where he watched the Baddest Man on the Planet defeat Nick Kirk. Marc will talk to us about the week's leading into Joe's return and his whirlwind 2013, as well as hunting, and the benefits of having a good beard (of which there are many of course.)

We'll also talk about Beards on MMA invading Portland last weekend, and the next steps for many of the fighters involved. If somebody finds Producer Matt's jacket in Portland, please return it to him because Canada's damn cold right now!

We'll close out tonight by talking about Bellator 102, some strategic moves in the UFC and some of our possible guests for the month ahead.

Beards on MMA with John Alessio

Posted by Andrew on October 23, 2013 at 9:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Coming up on tonight's final jumbo sized episode of Beards on MMA, it's a very Pacific Northwest feel as we welcome debuting Bellator fighter John "The Natural" Alessio. Now living in Las Vegas by way of his native Canada, Alessio is a long time fight game veteran, having fought in the UFC, MFC, PRIDE, DREAM and More. We'll talk to him about his Bellator debut on September 27th, and more.

John also has really sweet hair, something Jordan, Andrew and Cutman Matt must be jealous of!

After that, we welcome on Pacific Northwest standouts Jordan Harrington and Woo Johnson. Woo will be fighting on October 12th for the Cage Quest Lightweight Amateur Title, and Harrington has been involved in the Washington State fight scene for a couple years. With the boom of MMA in the Northwest, we'll talk with these two about how they see themselves in this growth, and Woo's upcoming fight.

We'll close out by chatting about UFC 165 and of course, Bellator 100

We also held a Twitter contest, and will announce the winners tonight. Prizes include a Jon Jones Leaf MMA Promo Autograph, and coffee courtesy of our friends and sponsors Coffee Bean Direct.

On this action packed double shot edition of Beards on MMA, we welcome former Bellator veteran and current Invicta FC fighter Munah Holland. Perhaps a new outlook on her career as she steps into the Invicta Cage in the near future? We'll find out what she's been up to, and whether she'll be staying at Flyweight, or venturing into other divisions now that she has the chance.

After that, we welcome the UFC's Patrick "Bam Bam" Healy for his second go around in Beardsylvania. Pat was the first guest on Beards on MMA episode 1, and we catch up with him again some 20 episodes later as he looks to take on Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 165. What's life like a few months later, and more importantly - How's the beard?

Join us live tonight for a Topps Giveaway with Pat too!

Beards on MMA with Matt Veal and Heather Bassett

Posted by Andrew on October 23, 2013 at 9:05 PM Comments comments (0)

On this edition of Beards on MMA, we'll be joined by Matt "Kid Lightning" Veal, who fights Nick Compton on September 20th for the Driller Featherweight Title. Matt's been on with us before, and you can guarantee that this won't be your usual interview. It never is when Matt and Jordan are involved.

Following that, we'll be joined by Heather "Handguns" Bassett, whose stunning Head Kick at Saturday's King of the Cage event has been all the talk of WMMA these past few days. We'll get her thoughts on her successful pro debut, and what she hopes the future holds (and of course, day to day life training with last week's guest Mike Biddle and Captain Morgan Sickinger.)

Beards on MMA with Mike Biddle

Posted by Andrew on October 23, 2013 at 9:00 PM Comments comments (0)

Coach and complete bad ass Mike Biddle calls in to shoot the shit with us as we discuss Training UFC! Find out how many people who show up to the gym for the first day never come back!

Later in the show the guys will discuss topics like the UFC's two fight cards in one week, Jason "Mayhem" Miller's latest arrest as well as fighters and social media interaction.

We can't say that there will be any 80's themed songs playing tonight, but we can't say there won't be either.

Posted by Andrew on August 21, 2013 at 6:40 PM Comments comments (0)

Hello hello. Welcome to this edition of Beards on MMA featuring UFC superstar Scott Jorgensen. It's been a while since we've heard from Scott, and he'll be here talking to the hosts about fighting, shoes, gaming, tattooes and whatever else we come across. Is Scott a PS4 or XBox One man? You'll find out tonight.

We'll then close up shop by talking about UFC on Fox Sports 1, and what we think the future holds about some of the night's participants.

Beards on MMA with Morgan Sickinger

Posted by Andrew on August 21, 2013 at 6:40 PM Comments comments (0)

Hello Beardos! Welcome to this week's Beards on MMA where we welcome "The Captain" Morgan Sickinger and his coach Mike biddle. Morgan's been a friend of Beards on MMA's since the beginning, and has a fight upcoming on August 31st for King of the Cage. In addition to fighting, Morgan maintains a pretty busy schedule, and has often been multitasking in his communications with us. How does he keep it up and maintain a fighter's lifestyle?

The hosts will then close out tonight by discussing a few Bellator related odds and ends, including the dissolution of the women's division, and the re-signing of Eddie Alvarez and his addition to the Bellator 106 PPV against Michael Chandler.

We'll touch briefly upon UFC on Fox Sports 1 as well.

Beards on MMA with Keon Caldwell

On tonight's Beards on MMA, we link up with debuting World Series of Fighting Lightweight Keon Caldwell. After a fighting hiatus, Keon returns to the cage this Saturday to face Nick Newell in what will be a pivotal fight in the growing Lightweight Division. We'll catch up with Keon on how he feels going into the fight, and how having an opponent that's been soaking up most of the spotlight has affected him for better or worse.

Then, we'll talk about the upcoming Bellator Pay Per View. What do our hosts think about the idea? Will this work? Won't it work? Will any of the hosts be buying?

Time permitting, we'll close out with a quick look ahead at World Series of Fighting this Saturday, including the promotional debut of Ray Sefo.
